Welcome to the Cross-Dock Terminal operations.

You will be joining the European Groupage Network team to head the operational part of our Cross-Dock Terminals in Europe.  It is a new position where you will be shaping your own team but also with a tight cooperation across the teams within the European Groupage Network Team.

You will be responsible for ensuring standardized and efficient operations of the 100+ European DSV terminals together with your counterpart colleagues throughout Europe who will have a “dotted organization line to you”. 

The extensive transformation of our existing network to optimise cross dock efficiency, performance, and quality through standardisation, structure, and operational productivity. 

The European Groupage Network team is based at the DSV headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark. However, you are not required to be based here, we offer a hybrid working place and some of your new colleagues are working in our DSV office in Krefeld, Germany, so there are 2 options for workplaces + partial homeoffice.

Standardise and ensure high performance of our EGN terminal production. 

As Director Terminal Operation, you will support your team in their daily tasks, motivate them, and provide guidance, coaching, and continuous development opportunities.

Moreover, you will be responsible for the execution of our cross-dock terminals standardisation strategy and ensure efficient procedures and processes for our +100 DSV Road cross-dock terminals in Europe. Doing so, you will play an important role in achieving consistency within your area and maximise our resource utilisation.

Also, you can look forward to:

• Stakeholder management, including collaboration with Operations and Management to ensure seamless coordination and elevate customer satisfaction through Network effiency.
• Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions for risk management concerning our SuperHubs
• Change Management in the utilisation/implementation of terminal IT systems, production standards and tools to streamline operations and boost productivity.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of the cross-dock terminal network in Europe.
• Conduct the Risk management and Season/PEAK planning for our 4 SuperHUBs.

Strong leadership and communication skills, process understanding and logistics experience.
As a seasoned professional, you bring solid leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop, and lead your team. 

We expect that you get things done and execute on our 2027 EGN strategy concerning the Cross Docks terminals.

Moreover, you not only know how to analyse complex data, but you can also identify opportunities for process improvements, and you have proven your ability to meet set goals within schedule and budget constraints. 

Also, we expect you to:

• Possess 7+ years of extensive experience in the transport and logistics industry and knowledge of cross-dock terminals.
• Hold a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Have knowledge of transport and logistics systems, including experience with the use of IT systems (TMS) and optimisation operation tools.
• Have experience in developing and implementing transport strategies and optimising processes.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in transport and logistics.
• Speak and write English effortlessly.
