JOB OVERVIEW

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance of the QHSE Management Systems in Singapore.  He/ She shall support the achievement of QHSE objectives, present performance updates, investigate incidents, and conduct root cause analysis for corrective and preventive actions. This role involves organizing QHSE training, supporting external audits and certifications, performing internal and suppliers audits . The position requires adherence to global standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

  • Ensure QHSE Managements systems are implemented, maintained and compliant, support achievement of QHSE objectives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, support external audits, and perform internal and suppliers audits.
  • Organize QHSE training, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure global standards are implemented and/ or improved.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the QHSE Management Systems are implemented, maintained, and compliant with all applicable local legislation.
  • Support and drive the achievement of QHSE Objectives and Targets.
  • Ensure regular QHSE performance updates are presented in Country Management meetings and as required.
  • Manage QHSE corrective and preventive actions. Ensure adherence to global corrective and preventive action standards, actively participate in root cause analysis, and agree on corrective and preventive actions for severe and recurring incidents, audit findings, and KPI deviations.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of DSV Global Standards.
  • Manage QHSE certifications at the country level and serve as the main liaison for external certification bodies.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Plan, organize, and execute QHSE training sessions and ensure training materials are available.
  • Lead Business Continuity Plan (BCP) walkthroughs.
  • Support the implementation and certification of key industry standards (e.g., STP, TAPA, GDP, SQAS).
  • Support tenders and customer/ external QHSE-related audits.
  • Plan and conduct internal QHSE audits and subcontractor audits.
  • Identify potential HSE hazards, develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all risks and opportunities within the QHSE function are identified.
  • Attend to customer QHSE meetings and provide support to ensure customer QHSE requirements are met.
  • Assist in supplier application review and maintain a list of approved suppliers.
  • Plan and ensure annual supplier evaluations are conducted.

 

OTHER DUTIES

  • Carry out any other job-related tasks as assigned by the superior.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct policy of the DSV Group.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of working experience in the QHSE-related field are required for this position.
  • Must be a qualified QHSE internal auditor.
  • Proficiency in Safety Risk Assessment, Environmental Aspect/ Impact Assessment, and incident management.
  • Candidates must possess at least a Post Graduate Diploma/ Degree or equivalent.
  • Educational qualifications can be compensated for by working experience.
  • Experience with Cargowise would be an added advantage.
  • Having knowledge of sustainability, CO2 emissions, and related topics would be advantageous.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and confidently in both written and oral forms.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Capable of conducting systematic and rational analyses.
  • Proficient in navigating diverse cultures and managing cross-functional interactions.
