Job Posting Title: Housekeeping Specialist - 80363 
Time Type: Full Time

Summary :
The purpose of the Housekeeping Specialist position is to maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse.  Duties include sweeping and mopping of floors including use of a powered floor scrubber and powered 
ride-on sweeper.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain floor cleanliness by using brooms, mops, shop vac and floor scrubbers to remove dust, 
debris, spills and trash. May use snow shovel to clear walkways and maintain exterior dock 
cleanliness
• Follow sanitation checklists, and work assignment orders for regular cleaning and supply 
maintenance of various areas cleaning needs; utilize various cleaning aids such as sponges, 
wash rags, squeegees, and towels to complete assignments
• Follow Safety Data Sheets for proper use and storage of chemicals and cleaning materials; apply 
knowledge of chemical and cleaning products for safe use of materials including application and 
use of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Perform pre-work inspection on all tools, materials and equipment
• Empty waste and recycled bins to consolidate materials for removal or bundling
• Load plastic and cardboard materials and waste into the proper dumpster for disposal.
• Empty contents of portable trash cans into a dumpster for waste removal
• Identify areas in need of maintenance or cleaning based on visual inspection
• Lock and unlock warehouse doors as needed


Other Duties and Responsibilities: • Other duties may be assigned to fulfill DSV’s objectives


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The employee must be able to communicate in English and possess 
basic math skills. The employee must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience as a certified
powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred, and employee must be able to be certified for PIT  operation by DPI within 90 days of hire.


Work Environment:

The work environment is indoors and outdoors. The employee is exposed to outside 
weather conditions when cleaning exterior docks and maintaining grounds. The employee is exposed to 
variable temperatures. The employee’s may be exposed to exhaust fumes from trucks when working on  exterior docks. The employee is exposed to chemical fumes from industrial cleaners. The employee may 
be working in close proximity to powered lift trucks at times.


Work Hours:

The work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours are 
subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be 
required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.


Physical and Mental Demands:

20 to 50 pounds of force is exerted occasionally, and up to 20 pounds 
of force frequently to move and position products and move equipment. This job also requires constant 
standing and walking. Constant use of the upper extremities is needed to reach for, handle and use  cleaning equipment, tools and supplies. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols, DPI 
grooming, hygiene and dress code requirements; knows and apply chemical and cleaner safety protocols 
for proper use and storage to avoid creating toxic or hazardous conditions.
